Cover: contemporary, parchment on cardboard, with embossed letters M, and beneath I (and then an ornament, maybe an angel) and then M</p> <p> Watermark: jug, small, with letters PR, on the lid five elongated skittles not bearing any ball, above the middle a broad vertical rod, holding a lying half moon (fol. 1, 2, 4, 8, 14, 38, 44 ); bunch of grapes, large (fol. 6,16); jug, small, with letters, perhaps OO, on the lid five spikes, bearing two, one, three, one, two balls, above the middle a rod, holding a lying half moon (fol. 46, 54, 56 [good] , 58, 62 [good] , 66); different jug, small, with a much larger base, above the lid a lying half moon (fol. 78); different jug, small, with letters perhaps HI, with large base, on the lid spikes bearing balls, nothing visible higher up (fol. 95, 103); jug with letters HI, above the lid's middle a rod holding a lying half moon, altogether 66 mm high and 24 mm wide, similar to MS Laing III.388a but higher. Vertical wires are 20 mm apart (fol. 105 [good], 114); jug with letters probably PD or ED, and beneath I, on collar a lying half moon, on the lid seven elongated skittles, above the middle a broad rod, holding a lying half moon, altogether 68 mm high (fol. 130, 134, 142, 152, 159); different jug with letters I and beneath probably OR, on the lid five spikes bearing balls, above the middle a broad rod, holding a lying half moon, altogether 64 mm high (fol. 172, 184, 194, 204, 215, 225, 238, 260); jug with letters probably PR, on collar a lying half moon, above the lid's middle another lying half moon (fol. 383, 393); different jug (fol. 298 = '398', 315 = '415').</p> <p> Foliation: old foliation in ink, but an error towards the end makes all numbers 100 too high
