Cover: saec. XVIII, leather on cardboard, the spine is brittle. On spine: JURIDICAL AND HISTORICAL COLLECTIONS</p> <p> Watermark: bugle horn in a shield, and underneath a tag with letters O [{i}or{/i} C I] P I H A N, and then a fleur-de-lis (lower part in fol. i., 229, 241, upper part in fol. 97, 105, 163 [good], 219 [good], flyleaf in the back [good]).</p> <p> Handwriting: the character changes after fol. 92, and both italic and chancery style writing on fol. 93 ss. remind me of the hand which wrote the remarks at the beginning of MS Signet 34.</p> <p> Modern foliation in pencil 1-247, and then 1-12 (for the twelve leaves which were written from the other side of the volume). Old pagination in ink 1-182 (= fol. 1r-92v). Old foliation in ink 1-52 for the List of Scottish Statesmen (fol. 110r-161v)
