XIX, in cardboard</p> <p> Watermark: fleur-de-lis, large, in crowned shield, overall height 145 mm, greatest width 93 mm (flyleaf ii, fol. 13, 14, 59 in Sinclair's Practicks, fol. 60, 64, 65, 139, 140, 141 in Maitland's Practicks, fol. 147, 148, 160, 165, 166 in Colvil's Practicks, fol. 168, 171, 173, 174, 176 in the treatise 'Treasure of Practick', fol. 185 in the Practicks 1574, fol. 227, 229 etc. in the Practicks 1610-1624, fol. 243); Jesus monogram I H S and above it a cross, very weak, altogether 36 x 38 mm (blank leaves at end).</p> <p> Handwriting: Scottish secretarial handwriting by only one hand, dated 1631 in several places. This year date was probably copied from the model Adv.MS.24.1.11 and cannot be used to date the present MS. Misunderstandings of Latin show that the scribe was not a greatly learned person
