The quhilk day John Lord Balmerino, being presentit upon pannell, accusit at the instance of Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, His Majesties Advocat, and he compeirand judiciallie, producit his dittay together with his majesties letter quairof the tenor followis. 'Trustie and wellbeloved counsellor, we greit yow weill. After dew consideration having resolved to cause the Lord Balmerino be put to the tryall of ane assise and to this purpose it being necessare that yew informe yowrselffe of such particulars as concernes your charge
