Ius proprium Scotiae - Practicks (general digest of law, systematic) "Major practicks" .

The entire volume is neatly written by only one scribe, easy to read, on several types of paper of the late 17th c. The work is divided into eight parts, each part subdivided into subject matter rubrics, which are in turn sub-subdivided into an introductory section, followed by sections 'Acts of Parliament printed', 'unprinted', 'Statuta Sessionis', and 'Practicae observationes'. Few rubrics contain material for all five of these sections. The scribe has left blank space in many places, obviously for additional material to be filled in at some later time. At the beginning, blank space of ten lines, obviously left free for supplying an elaborately decorated book title and heading of the First Part. Yet, this was never supplied.
