[The library underwent several name changes. In 1907, the library started as 'Biblioteca del Institut de Estudis Catalans'. In 1914 it was transferred to the 'Palau de la Generalitat'. In 1940 it was re-established as a separate entity, now named 'Biblioteca Central ...'. In 1981 the library was renamed 'Biblioteca Nacional de Catalunya']
