Ius proprium Scotiae - Practicks (general digest of law, systematic) (= mention of several copies, penned by Habakkuk Bisset).

[{i}Bisset mentions that he penned several copies of 'Balfour's Practicks'. He assumed that the model MS (also penned in most part by Bisset) from which all others derive went to the Earl of Argyll, or otherwise it may have remained with Lord (Balfour of) Burleigh (= Sir James Balfour's heir). Other copies penned by Bisset went to Sir John Skene Lord Curriehill and to his brothers. Habakkuk Bisset had in the year 1582 or 1583 been employed by Balfour, at 'Burlie' = Burleigh, where he and another employee, Andrew Moresone, extracted notes from old chronicles and other documents, to be incorporated into'Balfour's Practicks'.{/i}]
