Catalogue of books .

Rough scribbling, done in haste, with many unclear abbreviations, difficult to decipher. Probably scribbled on dictation: errors in the spelling of authors' names suggest this. Since the leaves 1-10 constitute one fascicle of paper, and since the subsequent text in that fascicle can be dated to 1640, this is a terminus ante quem for the catalogue.

Between the front cover and the beginning of the volume there is a letter by David Laing, 1855/01/05, with the seal of The Bannatyne Club: Laing had borrowed this MS for some time, to analyse it. In the late 19th century he was the librarian of the Signet Library
