Acta litigationis Scotiae : minutes of a clerk in the Court of Session

Acta litigationis Scotiae: minutes of a clerk in the Court of Session (1812/11/12 - 1814/7/9).

Obviously part of a series of volumes. Page numbering 881-1357 (= to 1814/2/4), followed by unnumbered pages (= to 1814/7/9). The text contains hastily written notes about cases pending in court. Most notes only contain the case's number, the names of pursuer and defender, at times with the name of the pertinent advocate, and a word 'See', or 'See minute', or 'Hearing', or 'Refuse', or 'Delay', or 'Supersede', or 'Adhere', or 'Adhere to Lord [{i}so-and-so's{/i}] interloquitor'. For some cases, however, short indications of counsels' arguments are given. It is not possible to grasp the facts of the case and the pertinent arguments from these scarce notes alone. To grasp them, one would rather be held to read the case papers (probably printed, at that time), along with these notes
