Ius proprium Scotiae - Tractatus 'Regiam maiestatem'

Ius proprium Scotiae - Tractatus 'Regiam maiestatem' , with appendix, definite model for the typesetting in 1609, prepared by John Skene of Curriehill.

Used for the edition in APS I, red page nr. 177 ss., black page xxxv nr. 25. The present MS constituted Sir John Skene's second (and successful) attempt at producing a neat model for printing. The text corresponds almost exactly to the 1609 edition, but lacks its index. The handwriting resembles the one in Sir John's first attempt at producing a model for printing (Adv.MS.7.1.10). It is thus very probable that the text was again penned by Charles Lumsden, but he did not sign here. Some pages were written by Sir John Skene, personally (fol. 174v-175r, 234r-235v, 245r-v).
