In ane caus of suspensioun, presentit at the instance of Johne Symontoun of that ilk and his cawtioners againis Thomas Inglis of Murdistoun, his charges having charget Symonsoun for payment of fyve thousand merks of tocher promittit ... Thairefter it wes allegit be Mr. Umphra Bleinschell procuratour for L. of Symontoun and his cawtioners that they aucht nawayis to pay annualrent ... be ressoun be the contract they ar only obleist at the termes thair inserit to pay the said principall sowme ... Quhilk allegeance and ansser made thairto with the foirsaid contract of mariage beine at lenth reasonit and consullerit be the saids Lords, and they thairwith being ryply advyset, the Lords of Counsall be sentence interloquitour hes repellit and repells the foirsaid allegeance proponit be the said Mr. Umphra Bleinschell for the pairt of his saids clientis and finds and declaris that the said L. of Symontoun and his cautioners aucht to pay zeirly annualrent for the forsaid sowme ...
