Ius proprium Scotiae - Registers of Sederunt 1537-1605 , repertory

No. of pages: Fol. 1r-21v

Rubric: Statutes of Session. Notes and observations gathered out of the Books of Sederunt of the Lords of Session, collected by ane uncertain author

Incipit:

  • A. D. 1537. At the first beginning of the Session there were not severall books of Sederunt from the books of Acts and Decreets, as we have now, but the note of the Sederunt was prefixed every day to the Acts and Decreets. ... [{i}The next phrase is obviously a personal remark by the scrivener of this copy, not taken over from the model MS:{/i}] Nota: such acts and decreets in processes as are contain'd in the Abbreviat and notes from which this is copied are here ommitted and thought less necessary to the design - (which?) is only to mark the severall publick Acts of Sederunt or others, the admission of Lords and lawyers, and notes and observations therupon. The first book of the Lords registre after the erection of the Sessione beginns upon the 7th of November 1537 and ends 24 September 1538
