This compend is preserved in four MSS which disagree about the identity of the re-arranger, and also about the original collector of the practicks.
Arranged under 72 subject headings. I cannot see any logical or other order in the sequence of headings. No mention of parties' names, no dates. Mungo P. Brown states in his index to Morison's {i}Dictionary of Decisions{/i} that Sir Peter Wedderburn Lord Gosford collected Practicks from 1668 to 1677. The Library's Folio Catalogue and Summary Catalogue describe the present MS under the mistaken shelfmark Adv.MS.24.1.3 and ascribe its production to the year 1669 - wrongly
