In the present MS, the collection comprises items 510-567 and 572-596 of the provisional edition of Sinclair's Practicks, but differently arranged. It appears that the present MS follows a roughly correct chronological order. I have not yet found the items 568-571 of the provisional edition.
The MS also comprises four hitherto unknown case reports: Maister James Gray, advocatt, warnit Mr. David Rollok ... (here nr. 4 and 5). About the same tyme, the Laird of Craigie warnit Joane Hepburne ... (nr. 6). In ane actioun betuix two Monyepenneis brother in Sanct Johnstoun ... (here nr. 7). MS Edinburgh, UL, Laing III.388a, dates these items 1572/4/20-28 and 1575/10/26. These dates are probable because the pertinent litigations are also mentioned in Maitland's Practicks
