Decisiones curiae supremae Scotiae - Practicks 1610/2/20 - 1619/2/17l .

Hasty handwriting. Frequent change of colour of ink - thus not copied in one instance from some model MS but written in many instalments as a sort of diary. Chronological order, at times jumping back for days or even weeks. The chronology is occasionally disturbed by references to long bygone decisions, either because the same parties were litigating, or because points of law were parallel. Dates are regularly given at the end of the item. Parties' names are written in the left margins. On the first five folios these left margins also bear keywords in neat handwriting in dark black ink. Furthermore there is a numbering 1-194, enclosed in round brackets. It refers to the 194 pages in the neat copy Adv.MS.6.2.11. Lastly, the items are all ticked off in pencil - obviously by someone who went through the collection and checked every single item - maybe checking the items against the neat copy?
