NOTARIA Tractatus de officio notarii (in Scots) 'After God had created the heavens'
NOTARIA Tractatus de officio notarii (in Scots) 'After God had created the heavens' (two letters 1721 and 1722 about a projected printed edition, not verified whether this treatise was meant).
The two letters do not mention the incipit words of the treatise to be printed. They only mention that the treatise in question deals with 'the art and office of a nottary publick'. There exists indeed a printed 18th century manual for notaries, under this title, printed and re-printed at least six times. Second edition 1762. Furthermore, the MS might also be related to {i}The duty and office of a messenger at arms ... to which is added an appendix relative to the office of a notary-public ...{/i}, Robert Thomson, Edinburgh 1790
