Decisiones curiae supremae Scotiae - Practicks 1573-1592: (1583 and 1589) , author not verified.

The fact that some items are dated 1583 and 1589 points to Alexander Colville, but the collection could also be a supplement to Spottiswoode's Practicks, here in pag. 1-149. Spottiswoode often cited practicks from Colville's collection.

Of non-entres of lands. 16. March. Die 16 eiusdem mensis in causa domini de Borthwick actoris interloquuti sunt domini that the overlord may etiam per donatarium persew the profeits and dewties of lands being in his hands be non-entres.

Donators of non-entres and wards may warne and put out tennents, as the Lords selfe might.

And the Lords thought that the donator of the non-entres might warne and remove the possessor of the lands.

Of witness. The 15. day of the said month, in the vicar of N. causs, it was decreitit that kinsmen and servants of his fermorars.

Of slaughter. Wha calls first for the assythment of anie slaine man.

Of sitting on blood. No man may sit upon blood bot if he be ane barroune.

Of poynding for dewties of ane ground. Ane Lard or Lord may be his awin officers, create in court, poynd his tennent for the dewties of his lands.

Silver or money that is consignit for redemption of lands non censetur inter bona immobilia.

[{i}Dated in the margin:{/i}1583] The guidis and geir arreistit may not be intromettit with, albeit there be necessaria causa to doe the same. The King's Advocat persewit N. for breaking of an arreist.

[{i}Dated in the margin:{/i}1583] Ane officer of armes will not be hard to prove utherwyse nor is contenit in his executions. The L. of Bishoptoun persewit for reduction of an horning against him.

[{i}Last item, dated at the end of its heading:{/i}1589/7] During the tyme of the non-entrie, the byruyn annuells will be allowit to the wodsetter of the lands. Ther was ane Broun of Cars(lui?)th that warnit ane Slowan ... fand no redemption of the annuell, becaus the annuell for the said termes was payit [{i}corresponds to Adv.MS.24.1.5 fol. 232v{/i}]
