Rubric: The tryall and admission of the Lords of Sessione.

That he that is to be presented by his majestie be of the aige of 25 yeirs. That ther be thrie presented, who shall be trayed be the Lord Chancellor, and in his absence the President. And be the remenant Lords shall be assigned a plaice out of the Civill Law and Commone Law [{i} = the Jus Commune? or misread the words Canon Law?{/i}] to discourse upon for a certaine spaice assigned to him within thrie dayes. And that in presence of the haill Lords. And imedieatly thairefter the Chancellor shall call ane actione being disputed by the advocates. The persone presented, after that the advocats all removed, shall repeat quhilk is said be the advocats, and thairwpon give his awin opinione togidder with his reasones. Quhilk being done, he shall remove out of the Hous, and the Lords to consult of his callinge, and refuse or admitt him as they shall think expedient. And being admitted, he shall svear that nether directly nor indirectlie he haith his presentatione, nor procured any uther to demitt, by any sinister way, by gold or silver or by any uther good deid or promise. And if the contrair be tryed at any tyme thairafter, to be holden as perjured and infamous
