Acta litigationis Scotiae: commissions and summonses , etc. (copies of documents 1583-1626).

This collection of copies from documents cannot be categorized as 'styles'. The texts in it were mainly copied for genealogical and historical interest, as shown by the fact that they all preserve the date and the parties' names and all the details of the facts. Some texts regard summonses in litigations, commissions in ecclesiastical causes, commissions to justices of the peace, and arbitrations, but the majority regards other matters - often grants by the king. Written by many different hands, but on two types of paper only. The items are numbered in pencil, 1-89. Old pagination in ink 1-278, partly faded or lost. Modern foliation in pencil in the inner margin, 1-138
