Good ink, relatively easily readable, could easily be photographed. The text is anglicised. Nevertheless the text at times lapses into old Scots spellings. The scribe understood Latin, and he even copied some references to the Jus Commune correctly. It is thus still worth while controlling whether the present MS copy might prove helpful for the edition, and in particular for the Latin text passages and quotations.
Many items are lacking. Already among the provisional edition's first twenty six items, thirteen are not present: 3-4, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16a, 18-23. The item 16 is shortened and its end differs. The item 24 has entirely different wording. I have spot-checked other items and have often found deviations from the provisional edition
