Decisiones curiae supremae Scotiae - Practicks (digest of decisions): praefatio by the editor .

Summary. As the author begun his work upon an abridgement done by another author [{i}= probably Edinburgh, NL Scotland, Adv.MS.24.2.3 in three volumes, based on the collections by Spottiswoode, Balfour, Hope, Auchinleck of Balmanno, Nicolson{/i}], he will not take it upon him to answer for the exactness of the abridgement in every single instance, tho' he has been careful to consult the originals, wherever he had suspicion of error; and this gives him hopes the errors will not be frequent.

[{i}My sample: the first extract from Sinclair's Practicks:{/i}] Accessorium sequitur principale. A ward being taxt at a small sum in favours of a man and his heirs, the privilege was extended to a conjunct fiar, tho' there was no mention of her in the infeftment granted to her husband. Sinclair, 2d March 1541, Gourlay contra Spence [{i}Result: the text is heavily abridged, barely an abstract - whereas the pertinent text in Morison's Dictionary of decisions is less abridged, yet fully anglicised{/i}].

Volume 1 = A-M, volume 2 = N-W Wrongous imprisonment. There follows an index with cross-references to cases in titles which also contain pertinent material for the specific subject matters.
