Additional notes on this page are discussed by Singer in the article cited below.

Fol. XXr-XXXVIIIv: Index of decrees by titles with folio numbers and name of issuing pope.
Fol. XXXIXr-v: blank.
Fol. 4v-9v, 158v, 451v are blank. The collection is divided into five books and subdivided into titles. Some titles have no entries; see, for example, two titles given on fol. 493v, De baptismo et eius effectu, and De presbitero nondum baptizato. A summary is sometimes given as part of the rubric preceding a decree; see, for example, the first entry cited above. Most of the entries are papal letters, but there are also some decrees of the ecumenical councils of Constance and Florence. The earliest entries are two letters of Gregory VII. On the first, 'Vobis commissa negotia' (fol. 122v-123r), see Jaffé, Regesta, no. 5203. The second, 'Propter egregiam et specialem' (fol. 592v), is edited in Leo Santifaller, Quellen und Forschungen zum Urkunden- und Kanzleiwesen Papst Gregors VII, Pt. 1: Quellen: Urkunden. Regesten. Facsimilia (Studi e testi 190, Vatican City 1957), No. 211 pp. 250-51. The latest entries in the manuscript are thirteen letters of Paul II, one of which, Ad Romani pontificis (fol. 199v-201r), was included in the Extravagantes communes (3.2.14). Most of the entries date from the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. An exact breakdown of these letters cannot be given since some letters are not attributed to any author and others are wrongly attributed. Yet the following breakdown may be of use in gauging the general character of the collection.

Although the collection consists primarily of papal letters and conciliar decrees, other materials are included. See, for example, the title De iure iurando in Book II (fol. 100r-133v) which includes some oaths of loyalty to the popes, sworn by emperors, kings, and members of the papal household. The same title also includesthe forged Professio fidei attributed to Boniface VIII (fol. 100r-101r, also included in MS Vaticano, Arch. S. Pietro A. 38) and the oath sworn by Henry II concerning the death of Thomas Becket (fol. 114r-v). For example, the will of Ricardus de Aquila Comes Fundanus, bequeathing certain property to the Roman Church (dated 31 January 1213) is entered in the collection as the first capitulum in the title De testamentis et ultimis voluntatibus, in Book III (fol. 226v-227v).
Nearly every entry has one or more marginal glosses. Some of these were entered by the main scribe of the manuscript, but others penned by different hands, dating from the fifteenth to the seventeenth centuries. All are not signed. Some glosses provide cross-references to the Extravagantes Johannis XXII or the Extravagantes communes. Examples of the various glossing hands can be seen on fol. 1r, 13v, 42r, 174v, 253v, and 173r. Commentators cited in these glosses:
