Glossae ad Digestum vetus
Glossae ad Digestum vetus . Many, penned by users of the MS, in pale ink. They are situated between the text lines, and in the intercolumnium, and along the rims of the text columns. The writers of these glosses purposefully left the main part of the margins free, so that an ample apparatus of glosses might be entered there - but this did not ensue. Some pencil notes were written in that space, however, since they could easily be erased. This, again, was a frequent feature in Anglo-Norman MSS
