At the first begineing of the Session, there wes not severall Books of Sederunt fra the Books of Acts and Decreits as wee have now, but the note of the Sederunt was prefixed to everie day to the acts and decreits ... The first book of the Lords registre after the erectione of the Sessione begines upon the 7th November 1537 and ends 24 September 1538.

1537/11/16 More(?) at this tyme the cheiff advocatts wer Mr. Henry Lawder, Mr. Thomas Marjoriebanks, Mr. Henry Balmavis, Mr. John Bethame, Mr. Hew Rige, Mr. George Strange, Mr. Thomas McCalydane, Mr. James Carnuire.

Item, albeit Mr. Robert Galbraith parsone of Spott was ane Lord of Session, yet I find him compearing as advocatt for Henry Lord Metvene and the Queens grace his spous, upon the 12 March 1538.

I find upon the 21 March 1537 that Sir John Campbell of Lundie, albeit ane of the Lords and also of the king's Counsell, yet he compears as procuratour for Katherine Barclay, in ane actione of non-entries, persewed against her be Mr. James Foules of Collingtoune
