Mediatelie landes holden of the king ar suche as are trulie holden of any other superior then the king, bot mediatelie of him. And thes landes whiche ar holden mediatelie or immediatelie of him ar aither within ane territorie thairof, or without burghe and its jurisdictione. Ther be three sortes of burghes: burghes royall, burghes of regalitie, burghes of barronie. Burghess royall ar thes whiche enjoye ther priviledges and liberties by the bountie and liberalitie of the king himselfe
