  • Off old, ther was sundrie sorts of breiffs now out of use, but presentlie there remaines sevin breiffs only in common use, that is to say: first, the generall breiff of successione, second of tutors, third of idiotrie, fourth of terce, fifth of limitatione of lands within burcht, sixth of division, seventh the breiff of perambulation of the merches. Of the quhilk sevin only the thrie are anssred and retoured againe to the Chancellarie, namlie the breiff of successione, tutorie, and idiotrie. Bot of the remanent foure, no anssr returnes
