Ius proprium Scotiae - Practicks (general digest of law, alphabetical) 'Abbas' - 'Universities' .
The leaves are not numbered. No mention of an author. Much Latin, often excerpted from Craig's 'Jus feudale', marked 'C'. Some entries still refer to texts of the "Auld Lawis". Judicial precedent is largely excerpted from Durie, marked 'D'. Excerpts from Hope's Major practicks are usually marked 'H', with reference to the pertinent keyword title. Extracts marked 'B' (with keyword title) probably refer to Sir George Auchinleck of Balmanno's Practicks. Latest date which caught my eye: 1666/2 (fol. 3v). On fol. 3r a critical remark on a case 1664/7/6, Livingstone contra the appearand aires of the Lord Foster: 'But manie of the Lords were against this decision'.
Letter A is written by one scribe, in very large lines. From letter B onward the text is written by another scribe, in lines of almost half the previous size. The entire volume is neatly written and easy to read.
[{i}Title only supplied by a hand saec. XVIII, on a flyleaf:{/i}] Sir Thomas Wallace of Craigie his practicks. [{i}Modern addition in pencil:{/i}] a Senator of the College of Justice
