Historia Scotiae: government under King Charles I "Trew relation" .

Edited in instalments from the present MS by George Neilson in the Scottish Historical Review 1911-1917. Discussed by John Ford, {i}Law and Opinion{/i}, 2007. The text had been printed before in the 19th century, yet incompletely: {i}A true relation of William Earle of Monteath's affair concerning the Earldome and title of Straitherne, acted by Sir John Scot of Scotstarvet, in the reigne of King Charles the first, vindicating Sir John from the aspersions laid upon him by Mr. Sanderson, in his history of the life of the said king{/i} [available as a separate booklet in the National Library of Scotland, without a frontispiece, paginated 1-59 = verbatim corresponding to the text edited by Neilson, yet only comprising Neilson's pages 285-296, thus lacking the interesting appended oration by James Dalrymple].

Written by the same scribe as the texts before. He started writing in 1660/8/9. The pages of the 'Trew relation' are numbered 1-28
